With our patented microflotation technology, we purify water in situ, directly where it flows in, before it reaches rivers, lakes, and oceans. Ultra-fine, stable gas bubbles (⌀ 15 -70 um) bind microplastics and micropollutants and transport them to the surface, purely physically, without the use of chemical additives. The removal of filterable substances (TSS), in particular microplastics, is carried out in situ using a skimming process (skimmers) and subsequent skimming of the flotate.

Our technology is scalable, resource-efficient, and can be seamlessly integrated into existing infrastructures as a retrofit solution. Innnovative microflotation for rainwater treatment plants

Rainwater treatment plants are among the most important components of urban drainage systems. Rainwater and mixed water discharges are heavily polluted with contaminants and represent a significant entry point for many micropollutants into water bodies, most of which are present in particulate form. Of relevance here are filterable substances such as TSS63 and microplastic inputs such as tire abrasion. However, studies show that Existing plants often have low efficiency levels for TSS63. Tire abrasion, on the other hand, accounts for the largest share of microplastics in the environment and has so far been largely ignored in terms of retention in rainwater treatment plants.

Our microflotation technology removes up to 95% of these particles and 90% of TSS63, even under high loads. Scalable thanks to its modular design and successfully validated under real conditions in municipal rainwater basins. By removing micro­plastics and pollutants early on, directly in the rainwater basin, we prevent them from entering natural waters and thus close the gap between inland waters and oceans. At the same time, it’s use in existing basins allows for flexible adaptation to different site conditions and utilizes their function as storage for heavily polluted mixed water runoff.
